About Me
I'm Ahmed Shafiq, someone passionate about software engineering and everything connected to the internet. Born in Cairo in 1988, I have been residing in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, since 1996. I'm married and blessed with two little monkeys who bring endless joy and energy into my life.
Journey Begins
My journey began when I was eight years old when I saw a computer turned on for the first time at a friend's house. When I used the computer, I wanted to deeply understand how things work, how websites and programs work. It wasn't just a passing curiosity, but I was amazed by what we could create and innovate through technology. I've always had in mind that we can build anything and create something from nothing, just your brain, code, and the power to transform ideas into reality.
Skills & Education
Since then, I have been continuously learning in the field of software and programming, starting with watching the bat wallpaper I thought was a cartoon, to writing in a basic editor, to becoming a web programmer, mobile and 2D game developer, and now exploring and delving into artificial intelligence. My academic journey has been equally enriching, having graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in software engineering, and earned certificates from both Saudi Arabia and Britain through the Open University.
Professional Experience
I have led I.T departments and digital transformation projects, most recently at Mathaqat Company, where I automated operations and reduced manual processes and paperwork by 95%, resulting in improved efficiency. I implemented and integrated four software systems to support the company's scalable growth. I achieved cost savings of 250,000 Saudi Riyals annually through software license optimization. I developed an internal analytical dashboard and system integration monitoring, addressing operational needs.
